Auto Accident can lead to serious injuries often resulting in neck pain, back pain, whiplash, headaches, and soft tissue damage. On average, 6 million auto accidents happen and over 3 million people are injured every year in the United States (census.gov, 2014). Injuries from an auto accident can occur at any speed that a vehicle is traveling. Even minor fender-benders can create injuries that may not be apparent at the moment of the crash. In fact, many people who have been involved in these types of accidents may not be aware that they are injured until symptoms begin disrupting their daily activities.

Why Chiropractic Care Is Crucial After a Car Accident

Even low-speed collisions can result in significant musculoskeletal injuries. You might walk away feeling “okay,” only to experience headaches, stiffness, or pain days or even weeks later. That’s why it’s essential to receive early chiropractic evaluation and care following an accident.

Common conditions we treat include:

  • Whiplash injuries

  • Concussions and post-concussive symptoms

  • Soft tissue damage

  • Neck and back pain

  • Herniated discs

  • Nerve impingement or radiating pain

  • Shoulder and knee pain

  • Loss of mobility or flexibility

Our approach focuses on treating the root cause of your symptoms, not just masking the pain, so you can heal fully and return to your daily life with confidence.

Federal Way Auto Injury Chiropractic Services

At Wolf Chiropractic Center, we provide a comprehensive range of auto injury rehabilitation services designed to address every layer of trauma, including:

Chiropractic Adjustments

Gentle, targeted spinal manipulations help realign your spine after the impact of a collision. This can relieve pressure on nerves, reduce inflammation, and improve overall mobility.

Neck & Back Decompression

Spinal decompression therapy creates negative pressure within the discs, helping bulging or herniated discs retract and take pressure off pinched nerves.

Massage Therapy

Therapeutic massage improves circulation, reduces swelling, and accelerates soft tissue repair. It’s also an excellent tool for managing stress following a traumatic event.

Vibration Plate Therapy

Used to stimulate muscle engagement and enhance recovery, our whole-body vibration platform activates up to 90% of your muscle fibers, promoting strength, coordination, and improved healing outcomes.

Custom Recovery Plans

We tailor every treatment plan to your specific injuries and recovery goals, no cookie-cutter protocols here. Our integrated care approach ensures that your body is healing as a whole.

What to Do After a Car Accident

If you’ve been in an accident, whether you’re at fault or not, here’s what we recommend:

  1. Seek Chiropractic Evaluation Immediately
Even if you aren’t in pain right away, injuries like whiplash can take time to surface. Early intervention improves long-term outcomes.

  2. Don’t Wait for Insurance Approval
Washington state law allows patients to seek chiropractic treatment through Personal Injury Protection (PIP) coverage, without a referral. Most patients pay nothing out of pocket.

  3. Avoid Settling Too Soon
Insurance companies may pressure you to settle before your injuries are fully healed. It’s crucial to document all treatments and understand the full extent of your recovery needs first.

  4. Choose a Chiropractor Experienced in Auto Injury Claims
We’ve worked with dozens of local attorneys and insurance carriers. Our team provides detailed documentation to support your case, helping you avoid future out-of-pocket costs or denied claims.

FAQs

If I need Chiropractic care, do I have to pay for it myself?

In most cases, the auto accident insurance will pay 100% for the cost of your chiropractic care. Our Office will assist you in the process of obtaining the information from your auto insurance carrier and the at-fault auto insurance carrier.

Our office will file medical lien and will wait until the claim settles so that the patient can focus on getting better and not have to worry about finances.

If you have Personal Injury Protection (PIP) and are not at fault in the accident, using this benefit will not raise your premiums.

Do I have to get an attorney?

That is definitely up to you; however, our experience is that it is much less stressful to get an attorney to navigate the complicated process of settling a claim. With an attorney all the calls from the insurance company are handled by your attorney and you can focus on getting well.

The insurance company has been calling me and wants to settle, what should I do?

Do not sign or settle anything until you have consulted with us. We have decades of experience in auto accident claims. We have witnessed first hand that many patient have settled before their injury is fully resolved, and now they have to pay out of pocket for their care.

It is best to call our office for a complimentary consultation before signing anything.

Why is chiropractic necessary in an auto accident?

Chiropractors are the only specialists trained to treat your spine when vertebrae are thrown out of alignment from the accident. Once vertebrae are properly aligned, the pressure is taken off the nerve, thus decreasing pain.

  • Restores proper motion
  • Decreases inflammation.
  • Prevents Long-Term Pain. Minor injuries sustained in an auto accident can escalate into chronic pain and serious long-term problems if left untreated.
  • Aids in the Healing Process
  • Plus many more benefits

I have seen my medical doctor, do I really need to see the chiropractor too?

You need a doctor who is experienced in providing the necessary care and diagnosis of auto accident injuries. Usually hospitals will check vital signs, make sure there are no life-threatening conditions and release the patient with pain relief medication. They normally do not provide healthcare for the underlying injuries that can often lead to future pain.

Thus after your hospital visit you need to make an immediate appointment at our office to begin treatment of your accident related injuries.

What if I need to go to different doctors like orthopedic doctors, neurologists, pain medicine specialists or referrals for MRIs?

We will immediately refer you for a MRI or any imaging studies necessary to evaluate the extent of your injuries. We also work exclusively with other local qualified medical doctor professionals such as orthopedics & neurologists to provide any additional necessary care.
